About

Welcome to my blog! I’m A’ishah, a simple girl and a mother of three in my mid-30s.

I love to think I am an introvert, but some key people in my life had different opinions. I have a degree in geology and spent seven years in a technical career before realising my true passion was writing. Now, I’m living my dream as a corporate writer at one of Malaysia’s top energy companies.

This blog is a space where I share snippets of my life and thoughts on minimalism, personal development, writing, motherhood, and mindfulness. It serves as my digital daily journal too.

After hitting rock bottom with my divorce, I discovered minimalism. Writing about it on this blog during that dark time helped me climb out of the pit. When I remarried in 2021, I fell back into consumerism. My personal life improved, but I forgot the lessons I once shared with others. Now, I’m on a journey to re-practice those lessons.

I live in a unique family setting where everyone has the ‘step’ title: Stepfather, Stepmother, Stepbrother, Stepdaughter. Instant families are becoming more common, but they aren’t often talked about, especially in Malaysia. If you’re in a similar situation, know that you are not alone.

Besides my professional work, I’m passionate about creating all kinds of content – text, images, audio, and video. I love nurturing others, especially my kids, through storytelling and creating art.

If you would like to know more about me personally, you can follow me on my socials:

Here are some links you might find interesting: my TEDx talk on minimalism on YouTube, my self-published poetry book “Lo(v/s)er” on Amazon, and some of my favourite poems published on @freshoutmag (12345). You can also visit my Etsy store, Ailively Printable, where I sell Quran journaling printables.

Thank you for visiting my blog; I hope you find inspiration and connection here.

    1. Thank you for stopping by. I wish you all the best in your current endeavours and keep writing! It brings tears to my eyes, remembering how we met through our late friend, Alvah.

  2. It’s been a while on this space! I don’t know if you still remember me, but I do remember reading your blog years ago. A lot of things have happened, our lives have changed (for the better, hopefully!) but it’s good to still hear from you xx
