Hello everyone,
Today I want to share my favourite podcast series on Spotify. I’ve learned a lot from them and want to give some recommendations to all of you. If this is the first time you’re hearing about podcasts, I promise you’ll thank me for writing this. Let’s dive in!
What is a Podcast?
A podcast is simply a digital audio file available on the internet. For me, it’s like a YouTube channel without the videos or a recorded radio programme that you can access anytime you like. It’s also similar to a blog being read aloud to you, like an audiobook.
Why Do I Like Listening to Podcasts?
I have many reasons for enjoying podcasts, but my number one factor is multitasking – I can listen while doing other things. It’s my favourite way to pass the time during traffic jams. I don’t listen to Fly.fm anymore, avoiding the annoying calls and random music.
I put my headphones on early in the morning while doing mundane chores like washing the dishes, sweeping the room, or ironing. Sometimes, I also listen to podcasts in the office when I’m working on tasks that don’t require intense concentration, such as refining seismic interpretation.
Where to Listen to Podcasts?
There are thousands of podcasts out there for you to explore on various platforms. I choose Spotify because it’s the only subscription I have besides my mobile data. It’s my primary source of entertainment apart from YouTube and mindless scrolling on social media.
I don’t have Wi-Fi at home. I have NO TV, NO cable, NO ASTRO, NO HyppTV, NO Netflix or Iflix. This is not a sponsored post, but Spotify’s curated selection of podcast series never disappoints me.
Other popular platforms to explore include Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, Pocket Casts, and Overcast. You can also listen to podcasts directly from the websites of content creators on any browser.
